Community Spotlight: MyrnIsTh3Word

For this week’s community spotlight, meet MyrnIsTh3Word! A creative at heart, Myrn is known not just for being passionate about the many games he streams — from MMOs to Shooters — but also his passion for helping new and upcoming streamers.

Myrn’s streaming career started 3 years ago after watching Darkness429 and being inspired by the latter’s outlook on the industry. Fast forward to last year, and Myrn was on stage at PAX East’s Apex Legends tournament — playing with the very streamer who inspired him!

Myrn’s streaming journey has been nothing short of inspiring, so we took the time to talk with him earlier this week to learn about his story, how he got to where he is today and lessons along the way.

Here’s what he had to say!

1. Who are you? How would you describe yourself to someone you had just met?
My name is Thomas AKA Myrnisth3word. I am a content creator on Facebook Gaming. I would describe myself as a charismatic and straight forward individual that enjoys all things streaming from networking, co-streams, behind the scenes and teaching myself editing, photo shop and just anything streaming.

2. How did you get into gaming?
I got into gaming when I was extremely young. All I remember is playing the Sega Genesis and NES and not knowing what I was doing but having a blast!

3. How did your streaming journey start?

My streaming journey started 3 and a half years ago when I was watching Darkness429. His outlook on this industry is what intrigued me to start. I started on Twitch and then after a conversation with him, I made the jump to Facebook Gaming.

4. What are some of the most memorable milestones of your streaming career?
The list is wild but some of the most memorable things I’ve done while on this journey are play live on stage at PAX East 2019 with Darkness429 and win the apex tourney with. There, I met StoneMountain64 — who introduced me to Pipeline. That opened an insane amount of doors for me, especially meeting an insane amount of incredible content creators.

One of my biggest accomplishments to date was having the opportunity to play with a 15 year old named AJ. He is one of the many incredible survivors from Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and nothing has compared to this level of accomplishment.

5. On the topic of memorable, what about challenges?
Ah, challenges! Yeah there’s been a lot during this journey, but one of the biggest challenges I’ve allowed my self to over come is discouragement.

Learning how to cope with it and use it to motivate you is one of the hardest things any content creator will ever go through. But if you can master it and use it to fuel you. There’s no stopping who you can become.

6. What do you wish you knew when you were starting out as a streamer that you want new ones to know?
One thing I truly wish I had a better understanding from the start was that streaming is deep. There’s so many different aspects to it. And any new streamer should truly invest their time in learning what it takes to get your channel up and running. It doesn’t take thousands of dollars or anything like that. Utilize every tool out there to succeed.

Another thing I would say is network your butt off. Be genuine and network forwards, side ways and backwards. People with large numbers look attractive but your content thrives on the energy you and other streamers bring to your live streams.

7. What motivates you to keep streaming? Is this something you see doing for a long while?
My wife motivates me far more than anyone out there and I am extremely thankful for her. My community has also been pushing me to new heights and I couldn’t be more thankful for them. This is truly something I see myself doing for a long time.

8.  What are your goals for the future? Long term and short term.
My short term goal is to continue to help up and coming streamers through Pipeline, as well as help my community understand the industry.

My long term goals consist of a few — one which is coming true very soon. In the coming months, I will officially be a full time content creator and I’m extremely excited and nervous. Another long term goal is to earn a paid sponsorship and partnership with a future platform.

10. Any shoutouts you’d like to do? Where can people find you on the internet?
I’d love to shout out the Pipeline staff and the community. This program has helped me learn things that some streamers who have been doing this for years still don’t know. And I am beyond thankful for that and the advice Snoopeh and Stone have given me in 1 on 1 interviews.

I can be found on Facebook Gaming at: https://www.facebook.com/Realmyrnisth3word!

Thank you to Myrn for agreeing to do this interview! It’s been awesome seeing him grow and we hope he continues growing even more!
