Module 1: Viewers

How to Stream on Twitch and YouTube from Your Mobile Device

Nowadays everyone has mobile devices — even kids have their own smartphones! Streaming sporting events has become the new normal, and cable networks have begun pushing out mobile apps that show VoDs of recently aired TV episodes. Coincidingly, content creators on a variety of platforms have followed this trend, as evidenced by increasing numbers doing IRL streams for their viewers — effectively live vlogging. Streaming platforms also enable mobile gamers to show off their skills.

So how can you get in on this? We’ve put together a short guide on what software programs you can use to stream from your phone or tablet.

Some software options for mobile streaming

  • Omlet Arcade is the “largest mobile gaming and streaming community.” It supports all mobile games – from PokemonGo to PUBG mobile – and even allows you to squad up with friends to stream for free to Omlet, Twitch, YouTube, or Facebook.
  • Streamlabs OBS Mobile is the mobile version of Streamlabs. This software allows you to live share your camera or screen to Twitch, YouTube, or Mixer.
  • Mobizen live streams your camera or screen to YouTube and, of course, supports real-time chatting.

Or stream direct from platform:

  • YouTube has software for live streaming on mobile, but your YouTube channel must have at least 1,000 subscribers to do so.
  • Facebook Live allows you to stream your camera to your followers. However, you must set up your stream using software such as Wirecast or XSplit.

Some of the most popular mobile games include:

  • PUBG Mobile
  • Fortnite
  • Clash Royale
  • Minecraft
  • Clash of Clans
